As mentioned in the new year news, 2010 was a great year and to sum it all up this very last day of the year our Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg wishes all and everyone a happy new year from Fuglen in the big New Year interview in VG Helg. The biggest newspaper in Norway. It´s of course an honor to be chosen for such an event. And we wish him and all of Norway a good year to come as well. (Photo VG: Daniel Sannum Lauten).

2010 was a great year for us, and now when the Christmas vacation is coming to an end we would love to welcome you all back for coffee and tea from Monday the 3. and cocktails from Thursday the 6. We are wishing all and everyone welcome to a celebration of 2011 and all that is to come at Fuglen Saturday the 8. A new years Cocktailparty for friends and foes.

The new room at Fuglen is finally finished. FORRETNINGEN, or the Store as it translates contains a showroom for the Vintage design objects that`s to small, fragile, rare or high in value to be put in to the busy Coffee and Cocktail Bar.
It´s also the place where the secret Cocktail recipes, Syrups and Juices are produced, the office for the managers, bartender and Barista course room, coffee cuppings, and storage. So its not only stunning. it works as well.
Welcome to have a look to all and everyone.

Tyler Brûlé and the rest of the Monocle team celebrated christmas and Monocles December and January issue at Fuglen last weekend. (Except for those of the Monocle team that was stuck in the snow on Heathrow Airport.)
It was great a great night for us and it seemed so also for the hostes and all the readers and contacts they had invited to celebrate with them at our small place.
Tylers visit and Fuglen has in this week been mentioned in two interesting interviews with Tyler absolutely worth reading, Aftenposten Aften and Dagbladet FREDAG. The one in Aftenposten was about city development in "Kvadraturen" in Oslo. And now on Friday he was this weeks profile in FREDAG. Giving you an idea what Monocle is. Welcome to all and everyone.
To our brand new website, webshop and the new logo.
At the same time as we are taking care of the past at Fuglen. We try to merge it with the modern times. Using modern technology to solve an old problem within product communication, we ended up with a great and modern solution and a new logo symbolizing the future of Fuglen.
The problem: How could we make information about every unique design item available to our customers in a subtle and delicate way to all times? And at the same time do this without taking too much physical space or showing the actual value (price) of the object; considering they are all easy accessible on display in the coffeeshop and cocktailbar.
The solution: Japanese QR-codes, a brand new website, a web shop and smart phones.
From a QR-label to buying a coffee table, a new way of communicating products
Fuglen presents, in cooperation with the web and design agency Rockberry, our new website and a modern way of connecting items to the web.

To mark the beginning of Easter holidays, on Wednesday the 31st of March, we are finally launching our new range of great wines at Fuglen. We will have a changing range of three wines by the glass, and three wines by the bottle. Our focus will be high quality at good prices, and wines with a clear adresse, showing local specialities and terroir. On Wednesday, all wines will be for sale by the glass, as well as a couple of surprises from deep in the cellar, perhaps?

Finally, we’ve officially opened the Cocktail Bar, and Fuglen is now complete with its three venues; the Espresso Bar, the design Shop and the Cocktail Bar! The opening was a big success, and the place was packed with all our happy, beautiful Friends enjoying tasty Drinks and soulful Music. We look forward to seeing you all again soon! Here’s a couple of pics from the opening weekend..
Our opening hours are:
Coffee Bar and Design Shop:
07.30 – 18.00 Monday -Friday
12.00 – 18.00 Saturday
Cocktail Bar:
20.00 – 03.30 Friday – Saturday
Beer, Wine and regular drip Coffee all opening hours, also in the hours between the Coffee Bar closes and the Cocktail Bar opens.

Happy New Year to all and everyone!
A lot has happened on Fuglen in December and now we can proudly invite you all for Cocktails and Beer every Friday and Saturday from this first Weekend coming up. The GRAND OPENING of CONCEPT THREE, FUGLEN BAR will be next Weekend from Friday the 15th of January. This first Weekend will be a trial run but everybody is welcome to join us for this as well.
And FINALLY for all Coffee drinkers, we can finally serve Coffee and Tea in proper Cups and Glasses. This is something we have been waiting for for 47 years so its something worth celebrating the 15th as well.
